GB/T 18802.11-2020 "Low Voltage Surge Protectors (SPD) Part 11:Performance requirements and test methods for surge protectors for Low voltagepower supply systems" (hereinafter referred to as the "Newstandard") was published on December 14, 2020, and will be implementedfrom July 1, 2021. Instead of GB/T 18802.1-2011(hereinafter referred to as the"old Standard"). To this end, the Center (hereinafter referred to as"CQC") revised the relevant contents of the CQC11-462111-2016"Implementation Rules for the Safety Certification of Power SurgeProtectors (SPD)", the revised rules are CQC11-462111-2021"Implementation Rules for the Safety Certification of Power Surge Protectors(SPD)", involving the product category number: 123005, the relevantrequirements for the implementation of the new version of standards and rulesfor relevant product certification are notified as follows:

I. Main amendments to the Implementation Rules

1. The certification is updated according to the standard GB/T18802.1-2011/IEC 61643-1:2005 to the new standard GB/T 18802.11-2020/IEC61643-11:2011, and the relevant contents of the article are updated.

2, revised 8.1 supervision and inspection time content expression.

3. Revise the requirements of 8.4 Supervised sampling inspection, simplifythe principle of sample delivery coverage for supervised sampling, and adjustthe frequency of supervised sampling.

4. Revise the items and quantity of supervised sampling test in Table 7,modify the coverage principle of unit sampling samples, and update thesupervised sampling test items and the number of standard clauses according tothe new version of standard clauses.

5. The validity period of the certificate is changed to 10 years, and therequirement for review is increased.

II. Implement the implementation requirements of the new version ofstandards and rules

1. From May 25, 2021, to July 1, 2021, applicants can voluntarily chooseto apply for certification according to the old or new standard; From July 1,2021, CQC will adopt the new standard implementation certification and issuethe new standard certification certificate;

2. For certified products, from May 25, 2021, certification applicants cansubmit an application for certificate replacement to CQC. CQC shall, accordingto the certification situation of the enterprise, formulate the version changeplan according to the implementation rules and the difference between the newand old versions of the standard (see annex), make up the relevant differencetest, and issue the new version of the standard certification after the CQCassessment.

3. The conversion of the old standard certification will be completedbefore July 1, 2022. If the conversion is not completed after the deadline, ourcenter will suspend it; The old standard certificate that has not beenconverted after October 1, 2022, will be revoked by our center.

4. Post-certification supervision is carried out according to the standardversion listed in the valid certificate.
