The 5th Member Congress of The Lightning Protection Committee In 2021 Was Held In Beijingi

On October 28, 2021, the Fifth (2021) Member Congress of the first sessionof the Academic Committee on Lightning Protection of the Architectural Societyof China (referred to as the "Lightning Protection Committee") wassuccessfully held in Beijing in accordance with relevant national regulationsto overcome the difficulties brought by the novel coronavirus epidemic, using acombination of on-site and network methods. Li Cundong, Secretary-General ofthe Architectural Society of China, Yu Yinquan, director of the AcademicCommittee of the Architectural Society of China on Lightning protection, andother leaders, invited experts, and more than 100 members of the LightningProtection Committee attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Ding Jie,director of the Lightning Protection Committee, and Tang Wei, secretariat.

The discussion mainly discussed the revision of the national standard forengineering construction, "Technical Specification for lightningprotection of electronic information systems in Buildings" GB 50343.First, Zhang Hongwen, director of Sichuan Zhongguang Lightning ProtectionTechnology Co., LTD., one of the main drafting units of the standard,introduced the main revision content and progress of the standard, and then theon-site and online participants mainly discussed technical issues such as SPD internaldisconnector, SPD external disconnector and SPD intelligent monitoring devicein the content of the standard revision. The preparation team will sort out andanalyze the revised opinions put forward at the meeting, and continue toimprove the draft for approval according to everyone's opinions after themeeting.

Yu Yinquan delivered a welcome speech on behalf of China Building StandardDesign and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and the Lightning Protection Committee.On behalf of the Lightning Protection Committee, he thanked all the memberunits for their hard work over the past five years and put forward new hopesfor improving the academic/technical level of lightning protection in thenational construction field. Li Cundong affirmed the work of the LightningProtection Committee in the past five years, put forward specific guidance onthe development of lightning protection technology for future construction, andwished this meeting a complete success. On behalf of the Secretariat of theLightning Protection Committee, Deputy Secretary-General Chao Wei made asummary of the work in 2021 (including a summary of the work in the past fiveyears) and a report on the 2022 work plan.

Academic/technical exchange activities

Cheng Xiangyang, a researcher at Anhui Province Lightning Protection Center, made a report "The key points of local revision review of GB50601 Code for Construction and Quality Acceptance of building Lightning Protection Engineering", which expounded the technical points of the national standard revision process;

Zhong Xiangmin of Schneider Wangao (Tianjin) Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. made a report on "Difference analysis of GB and UL standard surge protectors", which put forward valuable reference opinions for lightning protection enterprises to take the "Belt and Road";

Xu Wei, director of Chongqing Lightning Protection Center, made a report on the Change in urban gas lightning protection Technology from the revision of standards, and put forward the key points for urban gas lightning protection work;

Wang Hongmin, product manager of ABB (Beijing) Co., Ltd. made a report on the design, bidding, and project acceptance of low-voltage surge protectors, and put forward reference suggestions for relevant personnel in different stages of the design, use, and acceptance of surge protectors with data and examples;

Han Shuai, the chief engineer of Tianjin Tianyou Architectural Design andResearch Institute, made a technical report entitled "Brief analysis oflightning protection and grounding terms", which briefly analyzed andexplained some key terms in some national lightning protection standards.

At the end of the meeting, Sun LAN, Secretary-General of the LightningProtection Committee, made a summary report of the annual meeting. On behalf ofthe secretariat, Sun LAN thanked all the members attending the meeting, thankedthe group members who have silently supported the work of the LightningProtection Committee over the years, and thanked the enterprises andindividuals who have helped to hold the meeting. Thanks to China BuildingStandards Design and Research Institute, the affiliated unit of the LightningProtection Committee, for providing various guarantees for the meeting. Thismeeting is the fifth meeting of the first session of the Lightning ProtectionCommittee. The secretariat will earnestly summarize the work experience andlessons, and strive to lay a good foundation for the establishment of thesecond session of the Lightning Protection Committee in 2022. Secretary-generalSun LAN finally said that in 2022, the Lightning Protection Committee willcontinue to overcome the adverse effects of the new coronavirus epidemic inaccordance with the overall work deployment of the Architectural Society ofChina, check and implement the work one by one against the five-year work planof the lightning Protection Committee, and contribute to the sustainable andhealthy development of the construction lightning protection industry, promoteacademic progress and transform industrial upgrading.
